At three quarters of the size of vintage biplanes of the 30’s the Classic is lighter and easier to handle. Using a four cylinder Lycoming engine The Classic is
less expensive to operate. These two facts make it easier and less expensive to build and maintain. Also a smaller runway is needed. At over 1,700 pounds gross weight the Hatz Classic is a stable
airplane. The time proven tube and fabric construction makes the Classic a solid airplane. The Clark Y airfoil provides the Hatz Classic with the forgiving characterists similar to a Cub. Yet basic aerobatic
maneuvers like loops, rolls and hammerheads can be performed easily. Ground handling is as easy as any taildragger can be.
